Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) has launched its Taweelah Al Jadeedah natural gas pressure station on Sunday.

ADNOC said in a statement published by the Emirates News Agency (WAM) that the new plant will ensure stable gas supplies to major industries in Abu Dhabi and Fujairah.

Taweelah Gas Compressor, located 50 km north of Abu Dhabi, uses up to 450 million standard cubic feet of gas per day.

The gas will be transported to Taweelah via the "Di-Taweelah" pipeline, which was recently set up by ADNOC Gas Processing Company.

The Taweelah gas pressure station consists of three units, a processing capacity per unit, of 225 million standard cubic feet per day. Two pressure units will be operated and the third unit will be ready for use.

Taweelah Natural Gas Compressor, which has been completed on a schedule that requires working hours to meet the highest safety standards, is an important step towards achieving ADNOC's 2030 integrated strategy for smart growth aimed at enhancing the value of Abu Dhabi's hydrocarbon resources.

The inauguration of the Taweelah gas pressure station comes less than a month after the Supreme Petroleum Council approved ADNOC's comprehensive gas strategy to enable the UAE to achieve gas self-sufficiency and the potential to become a source
