Tokyo Deputy Attorney General Shin Kokimoto said on Thursday he could not comment on whether Nissan's chairman, Carlos Ghosn, had pleaded guilty to financial charges.

Ghosn was being held at a Tokyo detention center and the Tokyo District Court on Wednesday confessed to holding him for 10 days, he said.

Ghosn was arrested on Monday after an internal investigation, based on a tip-off from a guide, revealed he had committed irregularities, including using the company's money for personal purposes and providing false data on his personal income over years.
