China's state-run oil giant Sinopec signed an annual contract for 2019 to buy crude oil from Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) during a trade conference in Shanghai.

The quantities agreed upon in the contract have not been announced, but two Sinopec executives are familiar with the terms, saying Kuwait would supply the same crude as in 2018.

The two sources asked not to be identified because they were not authorized to speak to the media.

This came after PetroChina signed a crude supply agreement for 2019 with Kuwait on Wednesday with no change in volumes for this year.
