According to Reuters news agency - Gabriel Lima, Minister of Oil in Equatorial Guinea, said on Sunday that his country will increase its oil production by 20 thousand barrels per day by next October.

"We expect to increase this year by an additional 20,000 barrels per day due to the new discoveries," the minister told reporters on the sidelines of a forum to discuss energy issues.

Equatorial Guinea's production is currently 120 thousand barrels per day.
He added that his country will announce next April agreements and memoranda of understanding related to the construction of two new oil refineries.

In November, Equatorial Guinea announced plans for new projects in the energy sector, with a total investment of $ 1 billion, including the two refineries.

Lima also said his country would likely announce the opening of new offers for exploration in several regions during April.
