The Budget and Accounts Committee of the People's Assembly discussed the investment budget of the Ministry of Electricity and its affiliates for the year 2019 amounting to 92 billion and 750 million.

 

The interventions of the members of the committee focused on the Ministry's projects in the field of generation, transportation and renewable energies, the re-operation of the thermal station in Aleppo, the need to establish a power plant in the process of dealing with technical and commercial losses, setting meters in the liberated areas, combating illegal migration and granting compensation to workers for their great efforts and helping families of martyrs and justice in rationing And reconsider the electricity bill charges and ask the enumerators to record the real value of consumption and partnership with ministries to take advantage of the surfaces in the development of solar panels and photoelectric.

 

In response to the questions of the members of the Council, the Minister of Electricity, Engineer Mohamed Zuhair Kharbotli, said that the electrical reality has witnessed a remarkable improvement during the last period as a result of the liberalization of many areas and the Ministry is currently implementing the program of periodic maintenance.

 

Kharbotli pointed out that the ministry will work to secure the electricity of Aleppo in the next year where work is done in parallel to repair the thermal station and the establishment of new stations.

 

The minister pointed out that the ministry raised a proposal for the presidency of the Council of Ministers to exempt citizens in hot spots of fines and fees.
