The Syrian pavilion at the Baghdad International Fair is witnessing wide popular demand for the fifth day in a row as the Syrian textile, medical, cosmetic, agricultural and pharmaceutical industries received less attention than other international pavilions in the exhibition.
 
Ali Turkmani, member of the Federation of Syrian Chambers of Commerce and Industry, said in a statement to SANA correspondent in Baghdad today that the large Iraqi public interest in the exhibition is a proof of high confidence in the quality of the Syrian product and its paper and its harmony with the Iraqi popular mood.
 
Turkmani pointed out that many Syrian companies have entered into contracts with Iraqi suppliers to supply the Iraqi market with their products, especially as it is the first market for Syrian products.
 
For his part, Abdul Rida al-Hamid, chairman of the Iraqi People's Committee for supporting Syria and the resistance, noted the popular turnout on the Syrian wing and promised it a testimony to the success of Syrian products in attracting the Iraqi public in a market in which many countries are competing.
 
Al-Hamid said during a visit by a delegation of the committee to the Syrian pavilion that the Syrian exhibits reveal that these products in quality, durability and development has become an incomparable competitor in the Iraqi market, which is witnessing a huge offer of products of other countries as it reveals that the Iraqi citizen by nature and accumulation of experience with the market tomorrow is inclined to the product Syrian conflict more than others.
 
Al-Hamid expressed his aspiration to restore the experience of the successful Syrian exhibition last year and towards the establishment of a permanent trade center for Syrian products in Baghdad and the same in the major Iraqi provinces.
 
Sadiq Abbas, head of the joint Syrian-Iraqi Chamber of Commerce, stressed the importance of placing the large public demand on Syrian goods in the plans of supplying them to the Iraqi markets throughout the year, pointing out that the chamber is working for a program that provides a permanent exchange of Syrian and Iraqi goods to serve the development plans in the two brotherly countries.
 
The officials of the Syrian companies participating in the wing expressed their happiness with the large Iraqi demand for Syrian goods as evidence of the success of the Syrian industry.
 
The Baghdad International Fair in its 45th edition opened last Saturday with the participation of about 700 companies and institutions from 18 countries, including Syria, which shares 21 companies on an area of ​​250 square meters.
